Two engineers and a designer began to work through a total refresh of the interface and underlying code of the light mode.After the refresh, changes had been made to the top bar, server list, as well as channels list. Next, Discord decided to give the light mode a facelift. They changed the culture around the light theme, which was altered fun to work on.After referring to the advice of users, Discord has changed its dark sidebar on the light theme to a light sidebar, further adjusted the light color contrast, bumped up the small and thin fonts, and so on. After the Discord light theme update, now, the new Discord light theme is much better and is attracting more users.Related article: How to Turn on or off Discord Developer Mode on Windows 10/11How to Change Between Discord Light Mode and Dark Mode?It is easy to switch between the Discord light theme and dark theme. How to install and use the themesThis project's themes use Betterdiscord, a piece of software allowing you to extend the features of your Discord client with plugins (you can for example quote messages, encrypt channels...) and themes (like this project).If you don't have it installed yet, I advise you to install more specifically BandagedBD, a Betterdiscord fork made by Rauenzi. It is available here. BandagedBD is fully compatible with Windows and MacOS. If you run Linux, you will have to deal with the .tar.gz archive or , if you are lucky, it is already suppported by your package manager.Once BandagedBD is installed, reload Discord (ctrl + R on Windows and Linux) so to apply your config changes. To know if Discord has detected BandagedBD, just open the Discord settings : a new section named BandagedBD had to be added to the existing settings list. If this is not the case, restart Discord until it comes up, or reinstall BandagedBD.To install the theme(s) of your choice, you just have to download the .theme.css file you want. Once done, have a look in the Discord settings, in the newly added Themes section and click on the button Open theme folder. Paste the theme(s) you have downloaded in the opened explorator window.To (de)activate a theme, just click on the button next to each theme's name. Once a theme is activated, the Discord interface should automatically adapt itself to the new config.Customize an existing themeYou're not satisfied with these themes (previews are available here)

Discord-pink-kotoriREAD IN RAW FOR PROPER FORMATTINGWORKS AS OF 2020.3.31 14:18UPDATE 12/13: now works on browserFor browser, copy everything in the css file and upload to a style editor like 'custom style scripts' inside the style - CSS box. Then, add this in the same space. if you press ctrl-I and scroll down, you should be able to see the words colored (that means it has been applied..bg-h5JY_x {background-image: url();background-repeat: no-repeat;background-position: right;background-size: cover;}You can change the picture inside the URL() to whatever you like.The code should still work in betterdiscord.Theme for BetterDiscord (Pink) with any pictureThe modifications are as follow: The main interface is transparent, so that the app body can contain an image of your choice. Active channels are white, with unread channels pink (color matched with unread dots) muted channels are gray. I haven't touched the friend colors either, so they stay gray.First, you will need to download Bandaged Better Discord ( download my theme (.theme.css file) into the themes folder (C:\Users*yourusername*\AppData\Roaming\BetterDiscord\themes)Go into your Discord, and at the bottom of your settings, you should find a label "Themes" in which you should be able to enable my theme.Final step is to copy paste the following into "Custom CSS" in the Discord settings:.bg-h5JY_x {background-image: url();}You can put whatever image link you want between the url.You can also edit the .theme.css file with notepad, using inspect element (ctrl + i) to find the name of the things you want to modify.Note that this code is developed from the universal theme fixer, but I can't find the original post.EditFor bigger images, you can use the following:.bg-h5JY_x {background-image: url( no-repeat;background-position: center;background-size: cover;}this will automatically resize and center your image no matter how you size your window.Edit 2 : I think there the ".app {" part should be removed from the main file, it should be easier to change background urls in the better discord app itself, no? So people can change the background and test it without messing with the .theme.css file, which is hidden in layers of foldersEdit 3: URL is Lucia holding handsEmoji jumboable makes emotes bigger(number)rem is the size, change 5 to 4 or 3 if it's too big :D.bg-h5JY_x {background-image: url( no-repeat;background-position: center;background-size: cover;}.emoji.jumboable{height:5rem;width:5rem;}
