Hi @kelley18,Welcome to HP Support Community.Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.It sounds like you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, but if you're still encountering the issue, here are a few more things you can try. Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, printer manufacturers release firmware updates that address issues like false error messages. Check if there are any updates available for your HP Envy 4500 printer and install them if necessary. Verify Cartridge Installation: Make sure that the color ink cartridge is installed correctly. Remove it and reseat it firmly into the printer, ensuring that it clicks into place securely. Inspect for Damage: Check the cartridge for any visible damage or defects. If you see any, try replacing it with a new one. Clean Cartridge Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer. Make sure both are completely dry before reinstalling the cartridge. Try a Different Cartridge: If possible, try using a different color ink cartridge to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the cartridge itself or with the printer.By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the issue with the ink cartridge error on your HP Envy 4500 printer.I hope this helps.Take care and have a good day. Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
