As indicated by previous responders, Acrobat installs a print driver labelled Adobe PDF that uses the system PSCRIPT5.DLL driver to create PostScript and then funnel same to the Acrobat Distiller which creates PDF from the PostScript.HOWEVER, despite what others may claim, you absolutely cannot have multiple versions of Acrobat installed on Windows and maintain the proper Adobe PDF driver or the Acrobat PDFMaker modules for creating PDF from Office and other applications.Thus, effectively, each version of Acrobat creates an Adobe PDF driver upon installation, deleting any other Adobe PDF driver already installed.Bottom line, you should only have one version of Acrobat installed on a Windows system at any time. If you currently have Acrobat Pro 11 installed and you want to install Acrobat Pro 2017 (perpetual license) or Acrobat Pro DC, you should totally uninstall Acrobat Pro 11 first.
