M1212nf mfp

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I can't use my old printer with a new MacBook Pro (Mac OS Monterey version 12.2.1), because neither Hewlett Packard nor Apple has a driver for my printer. HP Printer Drivers 5.1 is not compatible with macOS v12 and newer.What should I do? Please don't suggest buying a new printer. It should be noted that the System Requirements for the HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update from Apple say Not compatible with macOS v12 and newer, but at least one report (about an HP LaserJet P1005) mentioned successful use with macOS 12.1. So, something like the HP LaserJet Professional M1130 MFP Series driver (version 1.8) could perhaps be worth a try anyway. However, it may not work/install at all. Look upon this as an experiment only. Make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera) before testing anything. Just purchased a new Pavilion X360. Did the initial set up of Win 10 (v 1709) and then it upgraded to v 1803.Can't get my LJ M1212nf installed. I know it's compatible with Win 10 1803, and it was connected to my older Envy running that version of the OS. I can still print from that computer.It's connected by Ethernet.The OS can see the printer: it offers me a chance to install it. It's listed as NPIF4383E (LaserJet Professional M1212nfWhen I do, it appears as an available printer, but with the message "Driver is unavailable." During the process, I get a Windows notification that an M1132 was installed. The notification has a "launch application" button, which launches HP Smart, which shows the printer and is communicating with it. (It's showing a low toner cartridge, which is correct.) WHen I click on printer details, it lists the M1212nf MFP with an active network connection, but indicates it's not installed. This happens even when I go to Windows Control / Printers and add the printer.I can also connect to the printer's web interface.I tried downloading and running the driver "full solution" from HP (LJM1130_M1210_MFP_Full_Solution.exe). I've tried this as a regular user and as Admin user. It extracts, but then nothing happens - I'm wondering if this completes properly.I also tried manually downloading the driver through the manual configuration process. When I selected HP, the printer isn't listed. I asked Windows to update that list, and while more printers appeared, this one did not.I also tried the USB cable, but similar problems.A final note: Windows had no problem finding a Canon printer on the network.
