I emailed the file to myself at work where i use PC's, and lo and behold I was able to open the file with the intrinsic Windows XP Compressed Folders. I assume that this could probably be done in Windows in Parallels as well, and other applications like Winzip might work just as well as the Compressed Folders in Windows XP.After opening it, I found the .pdf preview file (Thanks heavens for saving a preview in the Pages document) and I sent this back to myself at my Mac. Voila! I opened the PDF in Preview, copied, and pasted the text back into a Pages document (with saved preview!). Hope this helps!EM Essentially the .pages file is a folder but Apple makes it no longer seen as one so 'Show Package Contents' is not an option in the contextual menu (right-click). To resolve this error you NEED to have the index.xml file present at the top of the pages package.SOLUTION: rename the file to .zip. Double-click this file to unzip and you should now have: as a folder in the same location. Open that folder and:1. If the file is already there it may have just been inaccesible due to file not being saved completely the last time. Rename folder to ' ', reopen in Pages and hopefully it should work.2. If the file is missing, I've read elsewhere that there should be a index-new.xml file that you can rename and follow the rest of the procedure in Step 1.3. #1 solved it for me so beyond this I'm not sure, perhaps you could borrow this index.xml file from another pages document to recover at least something from a working file. #5 Thank you it workedI do appreciate your solution Yidaki. My file is now open in Pages.Kind regardsWayne #6 Need helpAll my pages documents on my desktop will not open as of today. I get the message that the index.xml is missing. I've tried to rename document.pages to document.zip but then I can't double click it because it turns into a folder and there are no files with theChanging where Pages documents are saved. - Apple Community
I, though a long time fan of Mozilla, have totally shifted to samsung internet ever since I have started using my smartphone for internet access. The dark mode is fabulous! My question is: How do I access the webpages I’ve saved in sam internet? The pages are saved in a folder that is accessible only with root access (which I don’t have). I need to export the htm pages or copy them to my computer so I can work on them there.Sharing the saved webpage only seems to copy the link to Samsung notes and not the contents.Help is appreciated, I’d hate to have to shift to chrome only because of this.Thanks. Hello Elfhealer, Congratulations on your first post on Samsung Developers Forum, Welcome to the Community !!!We looked into your query and had a communication with the ‘Samsung Internet’ team in this regard. The contents of saved pages are stored on the app data directory. So it won’t be accessible via file explorer applications or tools. Sorry for the inconvenience. rreview February 17, 2022, 12:25am 3 Hello, What is samsung doing to allow us to export these pages? As users, we were not aware that these pages cannot be exported (either as a zip file and via bluetooth to some other device) and now we have so many saved pages that we want access to outside of the Samsung browser and all of sudden you are telling us we cannot do that. Had this been made aware when we used the Saved Pages feature for the first time, we would not have used it. Now we are stuck with no way to access all those pages outside of the Samsug browser. Please provide as way to access them outside by allowing us to export. hjo August 23, 2024, 1:12pm 4 My wife has in one way or another stored 13.500 pages in samsung internet and now it can’t even do a backup of this app. I think Samsung should develop a solution. The app appears primitiv without any information on limitations in use off otherwise good functions. Redacted August 23, 2024, 4:59pm 5 FYI This is not the correct forum for consumer product bug reports, questions, or concerns. This forum is for third-party developer issues, people that develop apps FOR Samsung devices. But funny you think the problem is the app not your wife Delete the copies! hjo March 9, 2025, 10:58pm 6 Not all people in the world are computer literate. My wife is not - and she just use the apps facilities as they appear. And she is fond of the pages she has saved..
