Yawcam will be completely hidden if you run it as a Windows service.Here is the info from the readme file:Run Yawcam as a Service - READMEInfo****It is possible to run Yawcam as a service. This means that Yawcam is running silent in the background as soon as Windows starts. A service is running even before a user has logged in to the system and is still running if all users have logged off. (More info here: When Yawcam is running as a service you will not see the Graphical User Interface. This is why it is important to start Yawcam as usual first and change the settings as preferred. You probably want to enable for example the HTTP output at startup. First of all many thanks for the most superb FREE software. It was soooo easy to set up within minutes and has worked superbly for a couple of years now. I returned a similar purchased product that i paid over £200 for because it was so glitchy and had many problematic issues.However, i am in a similar situation that more and more people are coming across, namely, the Java update is causing the preview screen (only) to flicker. I do need to have the use of the preview screen as i have it on in the corner of my pc screen connected to the cctv cameras whilst using my computer.I'm very surprised that some people are readily accepting that in order to have Yawcam running as normal, they are rolling back to an outdated version of Java. Clearly as time goes on that will be less and less of an (odd) option as the new Java will be required ever more so. I already get many programmes and applications demanding i use the most recent version of Java.That brings me to my possibly naive questions?. Surely, Yawcam just needs a simple programming tweak to return it to full working status?. Are there any adjustments one can make oneself within the programme files? Finally, what is causing the problem and why?, i know Jave Runtime has been mentioned, but in layman's terms what does that mean?.. There are a lot of buttons that seem to suggest that Yawcam can be set to take snapshot images and when motion is detected and send it to you. 1a) For instance, FIRST, note in the main Yawcam window (Control Panel/Console tabs), under Settings/Device/Format Control, there is a Stream Format/Color Space/Compression setting as if to imply that you can adjust the compression of a saved file. 1b) NEXT, go back to that main Yawcam window (Control Panel/Console tabs), under Windows, check Motion Detection. 1c) In the Motion Detection Window, under the Action tab, you have the ability under the first option, Save File/Settings, to have Yawcam snap pictures when Motion is detected. You can adjust the interval rate for Yawcam to take pictures, image quality and *Browse where you want Yawcam to save those images. * The only problem with the Browse that I have found is that when you set a location (I made a subfolder in a My Documents Folder), the main Yawcam window (Control Panel/Console tabs), under the Console tab, Yawcam returns an that it cannot access that folder: "Error: C:\Users\MY-NAME\Documents\My-SubFile-Name (Access is denied)". 1d) On the same Motion Detection issue, in the same Motion Detection Window mentioned at beginning of point 1c, Actions tab, you can input into the fields what e-mail Yawcam sends the Motion-Detected pictures to. I haven't figured out what address goes in the To or From field. I haven't figured out what goes in the SMTP Server field or Port field or how to find out this info, but clearly, Yawcam already has the potential to do all of the things that are being discussed in this Thread. 1e) On the same Motion Detection issue, in the same Motion Detection Window mentioned at beginning of point 1c, but this time under the Settings tab, there is a Detection Level adjustment. It would be nice to know how this works as well. For instance, by increasing the Sensitivity Slider to a higher/larger Percent, does that decrease or increase the actions that activate the Motion Detection features, such as taking pictures? The same question on the Tolerance Slider. And in that same Window, on the bottom, how does one read or understand, under the Variations/Interval, what the 500 ms means or what happens if I increase or decrease that number?CONCLUSION: So it seems the feature for taking pics upon detecting motion AND sending it to you via E-Mail is already part of Yawcam. What we need are clear, step-by-step instructions on how to use it. And Yawcam Help talks only about Router settings and how to adjust, but many people don't use routers. We

You should be able to view the stream from Yawcam.Pasword protection is only available on the streaming side.I have found that this works with all of the cameras I am using, and on several different computers. If you are using multiple computers with multiple versions of Yawcam, then you will obviously need to give them unique addresses. I have them all working with incremental addresses, i.e. computer 1 uses 192.168.2.100, Computer 2 uses 192.168.2.102, Computer 3 uses 192.168.2.104 etc etc like this, I can access all the webcams on the different cameras doted around the network.I went on leave a few months ago and was able to access the http from my Samsung Galaxy S cellphone which was a great comfort to be able to keep an eye on things. I used Blue Iris to view all five cameras from five different computers running Yawcam on my network and it all worked very reliably. I hope this info helps others successfully set their multiple view system.

You will then have the ability to view several feeds from multiple Yawcam servers using either HTTP or Streaming.If I had found this information when I was setting up H264 & Blue Iris, I would have saved myself weeks of experimenting. I am not an expert, nor do I profess to be, but I had a lot of help setting up port forwarding etc so decided that in the spirit of paying things forward, I would share some useful information that you will need to know and probably not find easily on the forum.Firstly, how to set up to view feed from Yawcam in HTTP mode -In your viewer program do the following.Select IP camera option.It will likely need the following information to make it work.
