It is possible to use SATA and USB ports in any combination to attach the NAS disks. Although SATA is a more preferable option, not every computer has four or six SATA ports available. You can use an inexpensive USB hard disk enclosures, a SATA to USB adapter or attach SATA disks to the motherboard directly. Once you have the recovery PC set up (the beefier the hardware, the better) you can start using ReclaiMe.Not enough SATA ports? Use an adapter to connect to USB.The NAS data recovery procedureDownload and install ReclaiMe File RecoveryRun ReclaiMeIdentify and select the NAS volume you need to recover. It will be listed under the “Linux MD RAID” or “Linux LVM” section. Pick the largest one!Click StartIf you can’t see the array in ReclaiMe, then download ReclaiMe Free RAID Recovery software and determine the array configuration parameters. Note that to recover the RAID configuration you need to know what RAID type was used in your NAS. When the parameters are determined, click “Run ReclaiMe to recover data” in ReclaiMe Free RAID Recovery tool and back here.Browsing, previewing and selecting your files.Wait until ReclaiMe already starts displaying your files. As the
2025-04-02Data recovery from an array, the entire recovery process consists of two stages:Restoring array parameters. File system recovery. To recover data from a Fujitsu RAID array, you will need: Disconnect the drives from the Fujitsu controller. Be sure to label the disks and remember which disk was inserted into which connector from the Fujitsu controller. Connect the disks from the array to the Windows computer. It is recommended to connect the drives directly to the motherboard. However, if there are not enough ports on the motherboard, you can use special USB-to-SATA adapters. Check all connections carefully and turn on the computer. Download, install and run ReclaiMe Free RAID Recovery. Select all drives from the array and start scanning the RAID type you used. If you don't remember what type of array was used, you'll have to spend extra time because you'll have to brute-force. Wait until the program detects the array configuration. Next, we proceed to the second stage of recovery. In the ReclaiMe Free RAID Recovery window, select the “Run ReclaiMe to recover files” option. If ReclaiMe File Recovery is not installed on your computer, you will be offered to download it. If the software is installed, it will immediately open in RAID recovery mode. In the ReclaiMe software window, select a volume from the array and click Start. Wait until you receive a message that “Initial scan is completed” and start checking the recovery result. If the data is displayed correctly in the Preview window, then buy an Ultimate license. Prepare additional space where you will copy the recovered data and save all the data you need. If ReclaiMe Free RAID Recovery was unable to restore the array configuration or the recovered data is not displayed correctly, then please contact us and we will try to help. Still
2025-04-08In fact, RAID 0 is hardly a true RAID because it lacks redundancy. This RAID level uses a striping technique. The data is divided into blocks of a certain size and evenly distributed across disks. You need at least two disks to create a RAID 0 array, A significant disadvantage of this array is the lack of fault tolerance. If one of the disks fails, you won't be able to recover RAID 0 array data. RAID 0 is often used in 2-bay Buffalo NASes. The detailed procedure for recovering data from a Buffalo NAS is described on this page. If your NAS uses a RAID 0 array, but the disks are working fine and data is lost due to user error, controller or software failure, you can still recover data within DIY approach using special software like ReclaiMe File Recovery. Pull all the disks out of your NAS device and connect them to a Windows PC. It's better to connect the disks directly to a motherboard using SATA ports. If there are not enough SATA ports, use USB-to-SATA adapters. Download and install ReclaiMe File Recovery software to the PC. Select the NAS volume you want to recover and click the Start button. If you have a NETGEAR or Synology NAS, your volume will be under the BTRFS section; other NAS volumes typically appear under the Linux md-raid or Linux LVM sections. Wait till ReclaiMe File Recovery software starts displaying recovered data. Select some files and check the result of the recovery in the Preview window. If the result is good, purchase a license key and save the recovered data to another disk. If you just need to recover deleted NAS data you don't have to pull the disks out of the NAS device. Simply download ReclaiMe NAS Recovery software to your computer, select your NAS, connect to it by entering your login and password, select the NAS volume for recovery, wait for the deleted data to be displayed, and check the recovery result in the Preview window. If the data looks good, buy a license key and copy your files to another drive. You can find more information on the page - how to recover deleted files from a NAS device. If ReclaiMe NAS Recovery software does not show the NAS volume, the RAID 0 configuration is most likely corrupted. In this case, you first need to recover the array parameters, such as: the number of member disks in the array, disk order and which disk was first in the array, block size, start offset on disks. All these parameters can be determined using a special software – ReclaiMe Free RAID Recovery: Download and run ReclaiMe Free RAID Recovery software. Select all disks and click the Start RAID 0 button. Once the RAID 0 parameters have been determined, download and run ReclaiMe File Recovery software. If it is already installed to your computer, the software will open in RAID recovery mode and shows all partitions on the RAID0. Also, you
